I was looking for a 357, can't carry in this sorry ass state, just for range, and home defense

I have a Ruger security six as well as the Taurus. The security six is my favorite of the two, but I carry the Taurus everywhere. The Ruger is my pampered range gun, but my father Carrie it in his truck for 20+ years so both are excellent carry options. If you won't be carrying I suggest the Ruger security six hands down.

I would recommend a nice used S&W 686 with a 4" barrel. It's an excellent "do-all" revolver.

get a taurus model 82 38 spl. it's simple gun that is an absolute joy to shoot. I am not a taurus fan, but they really did this one right.

I agree. My own 686 was one of my first handguns and makes a great range and home gun.

I had a Ruger GP100 I liked a lot but had to sell due to financial anemia. But I don't think you can go far wrong with Smith & Wesson.

I checked them out on line. The S&W 686 looks good. I also like the Tarus 627 4". Any thoughts on the Tarus
