Bushnell Elite on .44mag

Thinking about putting a scope on my Taurus M44 .44 mag with a 8 3/8" barrel. The barrel is ported and my gun dealer is recommending a Bushnell Elite 2x6x-32. Recommends it over a similar Burris. Leopold would be a step up but would be more. He has one for $300 and says he runs the same scope on his 460 with no problems.

Anybody have any experience with this scope on a .44mag or larger recoiling gun? I'll be looking to use this for deer and target shooting.

The Elite should be just fine on your gun.

I've got the money to buy his scope now. Do I go for the Bushnell Elite or is there another pistol scope that deserves my consideration?

My gun guy is not recommending the Burris. He has had bad luck with them and a couple of his customers.

Or he doesn't sell them. Check customer reviews at opticsplanet and midway

Have you though about a quality red dot for hunting . Quicker on target in real field conditions and still from a rest capable for tight 100 yards groups. You might be pushing the 300+ dollars for some of the better sights but worked for me for 20 years on a 357 and now a new-er burris 135 speed dot on my 44mag.
Mount has the be drilled and tapped but a great mount- http://jackweigand.com/tngsvr.html
