Blue Book Value
can anyone give me the blue book value of a NIB S&W 638? I need to know if I paid too much. the blue book i have is from 2006, I guess i need to go purchase a new one.

MSRP is $638. and 100% is $460.
I find that Gun Broker is a great source for current gun values as it reflects what the market for firearms is currently bearing. If the market is inflated with a certain firearm you will not pay Blue Book prices, supply and demand. Furthermore, a gun values really comes down to whether you are buying it or selling it. How much do you want the firearm opposed to how much the seller needs the money. |
Joe hit the nail on the head. Any product is worth what someone is willing to pay for it - no more and no less. If you look at Gunbroker, make sure to look at completed auctions, with a sale, to see what something actually went for.
BTW, after the fact is the wrong time to ask yourself whether you paid to much... |
well i came out ok then. the gun WAS never fired and nib and it cost me $425 and I'm more than happy with it. thanks

Yeah you did alright. I've paid too much before, but there's not much you can do about it. I always check gun broker or the Bible before buying now.
