.41 Magnum is the best revolver caliber ever made. But it was made for cops, who rejected it because of the recoil. It should have been directed toward the hunting/hiking/camping uses. I have to reload because I can't afford $68 for a box of 20 rounds.

If you dont reload Bitter root valley ammunition company known as BVAC makes various choices in 41 magnum. Also Hunting shack ammo company known as HMC also makes ammo. The prices are lower than major manufacturers and they offer more choices in velocities and bullet styles. The also sell once fired reloads in many calibers for about half price. They sell to law enforcement and the goverment in very large quantitities. They are both located in stevensville montana.
Youcan buy the ammo through a number of dealers cheaper than dirt and cabellas to name a couple.

The best trail gun used to be a 44 mag. Injuries and old age have tendency to get the final word.
As of late the 357 has been my hiking buddy. Regretfully, I might have to retire my old Redhawk. We've had many an adventure together, and if she could talk.... you'd get an ear full......

Yea .41 is my favorite revolver cartridge. $68.00 for a box of 20 rounds? HOLY COW! That's nuts! My LGS has them for $30.00 a box of 20. That is a bunch of money IMO. The .41 is a reloader's round for sure.
