I paid $775.00 for that 629. It is brand new. I looked on the S&W site. It listed for $1068.00. I checked gunbroker and Buds. My local dealer said it was marked wrong. But he still honored the price.

Yeah that thing just looks scary for full loads.

The .44mag or other big bore handguns aren't for everyone, but if they are. . .they really are!

That holster looks like it works pretty good for you. Glad you were able to get the 44 for a good price. Considering the prices we see for quality all metal firearms the reality is they are really not all that expensive when you realize how badly our US dollar has been debased. Diggsbakes is right on mentioning that big bores are not for everyone, but it is for me. I have never regretted buying my 7 1/2" 44 Redhawk, but I do have to say I have come to gain some common sense in consideration of any desire for larger more powerful handguns than the 44 mag. If I want brutal I just put a few rounds through my 44 Bulldog, it makes my Redhawk seem rather tame other than muzzle blast.
