I've currently got 2 357s, a S&W Model 19 6" and a RUger SP101. My impressions of both companies is that usually a Smith is lighter, typically has a little bit nicer trigger, fit and finish on new weapons is comparable. Ruger makes a great weapon in the GP and SP, both are tanks but out of the box they aren't as refined. Don't get me wrong, with a little work the Ruger can catch up and is still a great gun.
If you want an all around, do everything gun I would go with a GP or SP and put a sping kit in it. If you go with the SP get the 3" barrel, it's a middle of the road length that can still be carried and helps with accuracy. In the GP you can get longer barrels.

That is nothing more than an opinion.

I always liked the Dan Wesson and it is surely a fine 357.

As far as the Dan Wesson being "the most accurate DA revolver in the world", that is not a logical statement unless you have fired every large framed .357 to compare them. And then in the end, it is the shooter afterall that controls accuracy. And then, it would probably be the gun that fits you best....so no one gun fits everybody best, and that's why there are choices.

True, but DW's are extremely accurate because they're the only revolver I'm aware of that have a "tensioned" barrel. They have been the darlings of competition shooters for years due to their strength & accuracy...

Aye, second that. Rugers are built like a tank. If you run out of bullets you can always beat the piss out of someone with it. But if money is a little more lax I would definately go with a s&w 686. I got a 586 (same thing just blued)
and would like to be burried with it along with my 1911.

Smith 686 7 Shot. Most accurate handgun I've ever owned. Handles .357 recoil beautifully, and 38 Sp. feels like .22. I've got the 4 inch barrel, so it is possible to carry it in winter.

After much thought I picked up a SP101 with a 3" barrel. Easily concealable and solid as can be. Will post after I take it out.

Ruger GP100's are a great gun and priced decent. (Two of them on the right).

DefaultEAA .357 magmum

I just bought my girlfriend a E.E.A .357 magnum. She didn’t want anything fancy so we went out and just picked up something that would do the trick. I paid $290.00 out the door and about 1000 rds later it is still going strong as all hell. If your looking for something cost affective that will last this is absolutely something I would suggest.
