While I dearly love my Smith & Wessons, my Colt King Cobra is my favorite in the 357 calibur. __________________ *** Don't Mess With TEXAS *** Μολὼν λάβε |

Back to the original poster's question - You can't go wrong with a S&W...and they are making commemoratives of their very successful revolvers like the Mod.57 and Mod.29..
We have something similar in NY. The old system allowed you to buy a gun and put it on your permit. Some people could not fit all their purchases on their permit. Now, the state issues an "amendment" to your permit which looks like the permit itself and has a passport photo on it, like the permit. To buy a gun, you make a deposit, get a receipt with the serial #, make and model, bring it to the Sherrif's Dept. with two passport photo's, pay $5, and wait to get your amendment in the mail before you can pick up your gun. We are required to carry our CCW Permit as well as the proper amendment for the gun we are carrying...if you have any black powder pistols and wish to shoot them (legally), they must also be listed, or you can be arrested! __________________ Guns Have Only Two Enemies-Rust and Politicians

I'm considering moving out of state before purchasing a firearm. Just obtaining one is a process I dont need to deal with. I've never wronged the community, as many guns owners have not as well. I'm not going to go through the process for someone elses wrong doings. I'd rather head 1.5 hour south to PA.

RL move West, In WA you get you consealed carry license and don't list what firearm you will carry. My reissue took less than a week and good for five years. If you have you CPL in WA you walk out with your purchase when you buy it. It is registered but is not attached to your carry license. In short if I had the money I could buy any pistol I want with out a wait period and not have to add it my carry license.
I owned more than a dozen pistols before the sail boat accident when all were lost and my state wasn't concerned with wich one I was packing. __________________ Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not." ~ Thomas Jefferson

That sounds similar To Texas, if you take the CHL firing test witn an automatic, you can carry a wheel gun or automatic, but if you test with a wheel gun, that is all you can carry unless you upgrade later, but there is no limit as to how many you can carry on you, but they are so backlogged, it is said to take up to 6 months for you to get the CHL.

WA has no firing test, no requirement to show cause for your license. Just past the FBI background check and you get a license. __________________ Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not." ~ Thomas Jefferson

If you have $1,000 to spend on a .357, you are very close to a Dan Wesson Pistol Pak. THEN, you have 4 .357 options in the most accurate DA .357 revolver in the world. |
