I dont mind weight, really. I'm not some little girl handling them.
I'm a big kid now.
S.S.
I mention the weight simply because S&W's are considerably lighter for carry. The Ruger will definitely perform for you and be an excellent all around revolver. I have a S&W model 37 Airweight which is a .38 and it's really light. I like it to just stick in my back pocket on occasion.
...and I'm really glad you're a big kid now, we don't want no young whippersnappers around here.

Many have already posted to this thought; but after a great deal of research and handling several, I just purchased the Ruger 357 SP101 with a 3" barrel.
For me, the fit was perfect, the price was within my range, and I had read many great reviews. Once I picked it up, my gut told me it was exactly what I wanted. I have only shot about 150 rounds through it - mix of 38 sp and 357; but I would highly recommend it based on my limited experience with it so far.
SS - I know that feeling. I went ahead and got 2 permits; but was thinking all along that one would satisfy me. I have already been surfing the websites and this forum itching for that 2nd purchase and trying to decide "what next?"
I mostly blame all of you on this forum for posting your pics!
Yes, each handgun requires a permit in NC. When you apply, upon approval, you can buy several permits (not sure if there is a limit), and each permit costs $5. So, if you are going to the trouble of applying, most people will pick up a couple. They expire after 5 years. The wait between application and approval is only a couple of days though.
