If you want a great, accurate, dependable, reliable,HD/target weapon, in .357Mag...
get a S&W .357 Mag model 581...
I've shot some .357 mag's and nothing has ever come close to this.
of course, you'll have a hard time finding one, because S&W stopped making this model years ago...I bought mine new in '87.
...just wanted to brag about mine
GP100 Hands down the best revolver I have ever owned. Fits my hand like a glove and hits where I aim. Solid, well built, reliable, nice trigger and cocks as easy as a single action. And there is a good side, its a good $100.00 less than a Smith!
So, I've done my research on the GP 100 and the frame looks uncomfortable. How does this frame compare to any standard frame? Does it still feel the same?

The only way to find out if it's going to be comfortable for you is to hold one, or even better rent one and fire it.
I like the way both the GP100 and SP101 handle, the cylinder release on some Smiths tends to dig into my thumb's knuckle when rapid firing, which can be painful after a few dozen rounds. That's my excuse to get a Ruger as my next revolver, probably with a 3" or 6" barrel, since I've already got a 4" Smith I'm very happy with.
You will find the Rugers considerably heavier than the S&W's.
