30-30 Magnum Research revolver

Just wondering if any of you have shot this revolver?

I'm curious as to whether it kicks like a mule, how accurate it is etc. Looks like it might be fun revolver to shoot and handy if you have 30-30 rifle on hand. Stats look like they might be a bit better than a 357 mag.

Doesn't look like it kicks very hard.
I would think there is a mismatch with the short barrel and the powder used in factory cartridges.

It would definitely pay to work up your own loads for a revolver like that. I was just reading an article about the gun in this month's American Rifleman and the author said the recoil was stout, but not punishing. That was using factory loads.

Color me skeptical. I don't know what loads they were using, but that looked awfully mild for a 30-30 in a handgun. It may not be an ungodly firebreathing nightmare, but I'd still expect more recoil than he was getting.

It might be due to the short barrel. The .30-30 factory loads are all designed to be shot in a rifle with a much longer barrel. The short barrel is probably not burning nearly all the powder.

When a 30/30 cartridge loaded with pistol powder comes out I might get interested.
