.22 revolver

I'm lookin to get a nice .22 revolver as a gift for my cousin. He is a bigger guy so it has to be able to fit his hands. Not lookin to spend more than 500. I am new to pistols so any advice would really help. Thanks.

Any of the several Ruger guns would be great.

Single action or double action?

I wouldn't go with the LCR in .22. Very short sigh radius and awful sights. Above all, a 22 should be fun to shoot.

I would check out the Ruger SP101 .22. A Smith & Wesson 17 or 617 may be out of the price range.

I forgot to add that a double action only .22 is not very fun to target shoot with

Heritage single action .22's usually go for about $150 or so. Ive owned one and shot a few more, in my opinion they are great.

You do not have to spend a lot to get a lot.

Taurus trackers come in 22lr & 22mag.

He would probably like a sp101. Or maybe go with a semi instead like a ruger mk3 or browning ;)

Trigger control. With practice, a revolver hammer can be indexed in double action and become essentially a single action trigger press. Practice, practice, practice.
