Default 1969 Colt Detective Special

i just acquired this and was curious if the pearl style grips are factory or after market.
Appears to have been rarely shot if ever at all.

I'm no expert, but I doubt if those grips are original. The original grips
look more like these:

I think what you have is a D frame long round butt.

Original's should look like this; (I think )

The grips on the OP's gun are Jay Scott aftermarket.
The grip frame is the short one. You can see it in the picture.
