Default 1911 guy steps back a century

If you have read any of my posts...you know I'm a 1911 fan thru and thru. I'm also a Colt guy. I've heard all the pros and cons and I really don't care. I have owned and shot about every type of handgun made from Beretta's to Smith & Wesson's...revolvers and auto pistols. My carry gun is a Colt New Agent...I have a Commander and a series 70 Gov't...the only other handgun I own is a S&W model 60 Chief's 38 spec. I carry it in my side pocket as a back up...my constant companion. The 1911's ride in a crossbreed supertuck. Today my inner child cowboy grabbed me and forced me to purchase a new Colt. I am in love...again. The P1850 45 Colt with a 5-1/2" barrel

If you guys are so inclined, the stuff Colt is producing today is perfection...not a single visible flaw...no I haven't actually shot it yet and yes I plan to shoot it so the range report is pending, but I couldn't tell you guys about her without at least a fresh from the box picture. Ahh...I feel so...broke...but what the hell...the things I do for love!

Very nice hill. Does it have that really deep old style Colt blue?

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Yes it is a very dark, deep royal blue...the case color hardening is amazing as well. The picture does it no justice...that is right outta the box with factory oil all over. There is not even one little thing out of order visually...It'll be a fun gun as I don't cowboy shoot but it sure makes me feel kinda like a cowboy...I'll have to go find an old western and play...

Default colt

what an awesome pistol! Absolutely beautiful. Here is my colt which is 92 years old. Made in 1918. (top one obviously). Hope I did not offend the revolver folk in this thread.

Heck no you kiddin' ? 'course that thing on the bottom is way outta place but 'spose you only had the one picture... I have a penchant for the Colts...not to the exclusion of all others but I'm pretty stubborn in my leanings and reasons therefore...They all get the job done and a guy hasta make a living so I can't really dis them other guys...
