Default Texas militias

Is there anyone here that is in support of state militias or involved with one? I would also like to get a take on everyone views of state militias and what everyone believes their roles should be.

Don't they call them the National Guard now?

No. A militia is not a branch of the military. It is a civilian force usually made up of former military.

You might be interested in the 'State Guard'. Texas has one:

The Texas State Guard is a Volunteer "force" not attached to the US military or National Guard. They are not capable of being "Federalized". They are strictly a group at the disposal of the Governor.

Generally "militias" are a breeding ground for hate and anarchist ideas. You will notice I said "generally". Even the best intentioned group tends to go sideways eventually.

And with the Government that we have at the present time,I have no problem with either of those "Ideas",as long as it goes only towards our government and their keepers-Judges/Lawyers/Politicians.
Then we could start all over!
