I use inexpensive batting gloves. They give you good traction and keep your hands ventilated.

Mechanics brand makes dozens of different types of gloves. All are quality and will wear well especially if youre only shooting with them.

Just today visited Gander Mountain. A pair of 5-11 shooting gloves was $39+tax. Mine were $15+tax at Dick's (which generally lives up to its name). Mechanix - sure, if you want extra padding... Depends on how much tactile feel you are willing to trade off.

Blackhawk has a pair of short wrist length kevlar gloves that have great feel, good durability and work well if a little pricey, unless you get them on sale.

Blackhawk TACTICAL AVIATORŪ FLIGHT OPS GLOVES WITH KEVLARŪ

I've found them in the mid $20's on sale.
