I only go to Reds if I need to sight something in. Way too crowded and LOUD

I shoot a lot of 7.62x39 and Astro's is brass only, so for me thats out

LoneStar allows rapid fire, its cheap, and is close to some good BBQ (Kreuz market/ Blacks). This is generally where I go to shoot.

Been to Best of the West once, kinda don't like how there is a separate price for rifles/pistols/shotgun. But they seem to have the best set up and variety of what you can do

I also go to Red's North to sight in, otherwise its Best of the West for me. I love the tactical bays because you can move and shoot, and draw from your holster.

I can't recall the name but if B.O.T.W. is full or too fancy, there is a more DIY range on 183 maybe 10 miles from the 29/183 corner on the left heading North.

Thanks again for the newest responses. I'll check into them pretty soon, I'm on a current 3 week work stretch down in South Tejas but will be nice to scope out some new/different possibilities. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the info and link.

I agree with the other comments on Reds. It's not a bad place if you can deal with a popular indoor....I can't. I went there for the first time last year and had never shot indoors. Having a guy 3 feet away shoot his 300mag in an indoor range is not a pleasant experience. If there were a separate handgun and rifle rooms it'd be better, but I just wait till I can get up to the hunting lease to do my shooting these days.

Where is LoneStar exactly? If you don't mind possibly giving me some contact info?

I don't know how far your willing to travel, but Llano has a range that is pretty good. I shoot there all the time. They are closed on Sun. and Wed. They don't allow .50 BMG or Shotguns as they destroy the target frames.
