You're kiddin-----Turn left toward Onalaska & go exactly one mile - on the left is my Grandparents old homeplace where I spent summers as a kid & lived there while going to HS--
That store on the corner used to just a two room log (real log) building owned by a couple named Lawerence or something like that - Walked that mile many time when I was a kid

Wow small world! Ive known the lawrences my whole life and so has my dad i used to walk a mile to that store all the time. Hoody is sad to say sick and has been for a while they havnt opened the store in months

Do you know the powell family? They live by what you described to me about the same area your grandparents house is. Ive known them my whole life and have always been close to them my dad grew up spending alot of time with that family...

Don't think so- The only one close by was a Wittlesy (sp) that owned the pasture land next door- His son was one of my Teachers

Shoot, that was back before there was a lake, i hunted in the river bottom thats under 'bout 30' of water now

Lol ok well i wasnt around then im not but 24 but i have alot of older friends that lived here back then...its really cool knowing someone ive never met (lol) that used to live in the same neck of the woods as i grew up
