10 ring on Jones Rd just south of Grant is up and coming. Good folks. Started as a reloading supply store on Cypress North Houston and moved with the FFL aquisition. Transfers are (I believe) $25.

I did go, met Archie and Chris, bought a Ruger (below), and we caught 84 catfish this morning...

Nice folks, cool shop, sweet new .308, and successful trip all around!

way to go! glad you stopped in there. nice looking Ruger BTW!

it's about 35 miles from my house to their shop, but always worth the drive. i buy all my powder and primers there as well. Archie has treated me fairly from the first time i went there. he's good about ordering anything i want if it's not in stock or something he doesn't normally carry. yep, it's my first choice when looking for firearms!

I know. I am resurrecting a slightly old thread here but I have input.

If you don't mind making a drive to the edge of the sticks around Tombal/Pinehurst/Decker Prairie/Magnolia area, the you should definitely check out Magnolia Hunting Supply.

They are a small shop and have a small but good inventory. Prices are reasonable even during these times at roughly MSRP. FFL transfers are $25 and they respect CHL holders (meaning if you spent the time, energy, and money to get your CHL, there is no need for you to have to wait for them to call in for a NICS background check). Last time I was there they had ammo in some of the more odd ball calibers for good price. They also have some reloading supplies and AR parts. If you are looking for Class 3 stuff, they got it. I have been very pleased with these guys.

I go to Carter's very frequently thanks to the gun/ammo/reloading famine. I must say the employees are very respectful and knowledgable these days. I did have a robocashier lately, but everything is good. BTW, I hear very good thing about a pawn store in Tomball that sells new too.

Tomball pawn is a good place to buy. A bunch of local cops own that place and they are very nice.

rumor has it....INDEPENDENCE FIREARMS in brenham (bout 40 min from houston) has CLOSED DOWN?

any truth? that was one BAD A gunstore! good prices, thousands of guns! during the wordt part of the ammo drought, it was the ONLY place i could find 223 or 22 ammo (although overpriced).

that would suck if they really closed.

Yes, they closed their retail shop recently. They are still around.. Only online sales and gunshows now. I saw them at the Houston Gun Show today

yup, blue bell WAS "all that" in brenham, until independence showed up!

sucks that they closed....doesn't seem like they were open very long at all. i have never seen so many guns crammed into such a small place before!

i think they claimed well over 10,000 firearms in stock!

i guess blue bell is back to being #1 in brenham again!
