Search Oregon Firearms Federation for Oregon specific gun info.
You should read the forum for a bit before forming opinions about the members.

We moved to West Linn, Oregaon 4 months ago, and have enjoyed living here.

Getting my concealed handgun permit was quick and hassle free.

But, Oregon's gun laws are IMO inconsistent. You can carry in many areas prohibited in more lenient states, but they are bad in terms of actually using lethal force to defend yourself or family.

In particular, lack of a viable Castle Doctrine, no immunity from prosecution or civil liability even in a justified shooting and ambiguity as to when, in general, you can use deadly force.

I live in the valley in Oregon. Love it. Certain cities though have a strict stance on open carry and concealed carry.
Like anywhere else you go to, check before you go. They have apps to help guide that.
Hunting is good. Not as open area in some parts. but good.

You revived a dead thread. Any reason?

The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together. You'll remember the quality of a gun long after you forget how much you paid for it.
