When out to the desert shot a frying pan about a quarter inch thick of aluminum with my 22 lr it literally looks like the bullets melted through the metal out of about 150 hits on it it stopped 3 of them. has anybody considered chainmail and a good bladed weapon?

a ruger 1022 with 550 bulk ammo federal. distance about 20 yards so don't underestimate the 22 lr it's a very powerful round very affordable price.

Oh yeah... I don't underestimate the 22 LR. It's just that we have been using, for the bulk of our 22 shots, a North American Arms Black Widow Mini Revolver. It is a revolver, so it provides less velocity than your 10/22, plus it only has a 2 inch barrel. We are probably only getting about 60% of your velocity, plus reduced bullet stability in flight.

We chose this gun to start our testing because mini revolvers are popular choices for self defense (obviously I have one). But we plan to test these same rounds through several different weapons exhausting action types and barrel lengths. I personally am hoping to get some good data points for my own use, and share what we find with all the other Zombie survivors out there.

Any good ideas for our testing?
