I have been having issues with reloaded Hornady XTP 185 Grain rounds in my XDM, some or the rounds get hung up on extraction and get caught when the slide returns. I am using Federal brass in both the XTP and RN reloads. I have shot my 230 grain RN reloads with no problem. I am using the same powder in both, 5.3 grains. OAL is 1.20. Any suggestions...

what powder are you using?? my hornady manual says 1.23col for the xtp 185grn. trying seating them .03 further out. depending on the powder you may not have enough or too much charge. charge weights for 230 and 185 are going to be different. so is bullet seating depth.

I am using Hogdon Universal... I did adjust the powder to 5.5 from 5, I am just starting to reload and loaded on the low side...

That is likely the issue then not enough charge to cycle the slide so they arent getting tossed out fast enough.
