Default XD vs Glock

I'm interested in which people prefer. I don't have a preferance, but lots of people I know do. They never really have reasons other then the feel in the hand. Any thoughts?

Much of choice in firearms is simply how it feels.

To me, my XDm fits like a glove. Glocks feel like bricks.

That's the only real thing I can think of that would be the deciding factor. Glocks do feel a tad odd. I usually end up with some slide bite every now and then.

XD/XDm just has a better feel for me, so that's my polymer of choice. I also think the grip safety is a nice feature in a carry/defense gun.

The only thing that intrigues me a bit about Glock is their model 20/29...wouldn't mind having a poly 10mm for when I'm mountain biking alone in cougar and sasquatch country.

I prefer the xdm over the glock. Grip angle is better and the trigger is waaaaay better. Glocks feel like im dragging my finger through a bowl of mush. Plus i do not like the glock lack of a safety.

The xd grip i dont like either.

I do want to get the 460 rowland xdm conversion for my xdm 4.5 45. 13+1 of 44magnum class firepower hard to beat.

I've owned Glocks, XD's (no XDM's), and M&P's. While I really liked the feel of the XD's, I just never shot either of them as well as my Glocks, so I sold them. I have since discovered M&P's, and they have been a game changer for me. I thought I shot well with a Glock, but the M&P's feel the best in my hand, and I feel like I am firing a laser with these things-very accurate. I recommend anyone who is considering any gun to try and rent one first.

I have owned a dozen Glocks and like them the best. I do have an XD(m) in .45 and prefer it over the G21 because it has a slimmer grip. The new Gen 4 Glocks have nice grips that fit my hand even better. My G4 model 19 has been flawless. The XD is annoying in that the grip safety must be engaged to pull the slide back and my decades old grip style does not hit the safety. This isn't an issue when shooting but more when disassembling or checking the chamber. I do not own a smith but would like to try one.

Both are great guns. Whichever one fits you best is what you should choose. Glocks will run fine with broken locking blocks, while the XDs will not.

I prefer Glocks, but if the XDs had been available when I transitioned from 1911s the XD might have been my choice.
