Same reason Honda has a bigger base than Ferrari. Price.

The lower the pricepoint of any product the more units they sell.

I agree regarding the Glocks.

Regarding the SIGs, most of the shooters at the ranges that I see with SIGs are either (1) Europeans (especially Swiss) or (2) high income.

Sigs are very expensive guns. For your money, you get a really accurate weapon.

Most of the 1911 shooters I know are x-military. It is a comfort level thing.

My own 45ACP is a CZ although I considered getting a Sig as well. They are both very accurate, only the CZ is simpler to field strip and reassemble, otherwise they are quite similar, with the CZ also by concidence costing 1/2 that of the Sig.

I am also x-military, and I actually wore and walked my post wearing a Springfield 1911A1 so there is a strong comfort level factor there. However I really loved my Smith & Wesson Model 39, especially the double action trigger, and that is what the CZ gives me that a 1911 knock off would not give me -- a double action.

The Sigs are also double action.

Sigs not a bad gun but the xdm for me is functionally better.

It looks to me like the XDM is single action. I cannot tell for sure.

I read through the review of the weapon and I still cannot tell.

I really like the double action and double-and-single action pistols instead.

Sig and CZ therefore seem superior to me to the XDM because Sig and CZ are double-and-single action.

I have an XD40 & a P250 and I like them both. SIG makes a nice piece and so does Springfield.

I forget the exact term they use, but I think it's like a half cocked position at all times.

After reading all the post posted here I see that alot of people are put off on the price of a Sig. Yet how many of you here have spent over a $1000 or more on a 1911?

Now do not get me wrong we are all living on tight budgets now a days, but I for one will pay for what I want and I get what I pay for. I have several Sig's, not to mention Taurus's, Smith's, Springfield's, Glocks, 1911's, etc. They are all great pistols.

What it all comes down to is what the individual shooter wants to carry. What they feel comfortable shooting. Not one pistol is right for everyone. That is what I like about the shooting world, ALL THE CHOICES.

This is how I feel, too. I don't buy a whole lot of guns and I want what I want. I paid quite a bit (for me) for my P238 but I'm happy with the gun. If I would have bought my second choice gun for a lesser price, I'd probably regret not having what I really wanted.
