Default Who is the BEST?

Many of us have our favorite pistol manufacturers. I wanna know, which is your top three? Which is your bottom three? I am looking for experience. I really don't want to hear about something you read about on the internet. If you (or a close friend) have experience with a manufacturer, that counts. I would like to keep this to mass production guns. No very high end, custom built guns. Most of us can't afford them, anyway. I realize opinions are like aholes, but this will help some of us in our next purchase.

Glock
Glock
SIG

Does that surprise you? Yep....I own a SIG P220 SAO in 45acp. IMO...Glock can't top it in their 45s. Just my opinion.

I owned a Sig P220 and LOVED it....until I fell in love with 1911s.

Obviously, these are my opinions. However, I currently own or have owned all the handguns that I speak of.

In pistols:

Dan Wesson; excellent quality, Ed Brown parts, underpriced for value and now has CZ customer service

Colt: The Prancing Horse had some QC issues, but they're long gone and it's LMB's anointed manufacturer.

Les Baer: Nothing to say except that they are generally just awesome

In revolvers:

Colt: The old ones. They're so smooth that you could accidentally shoot off your pinkie toe and not care.

Smith & Wesson: The old ones. See Colt.

Ruger: Not the smoothest triggers, not as graceful looking as a Colt or S&W, but built like tanks, dependable to a fault and like a Timex, they just keep on ticking.

Ithaca M1911 A1 (sentimental favorite)
Current Colt series 80 1911
Browning High Power (older ones)

See a common thread running through the above.

Next year makes it 100!

Just from guns I own/have owned.

Yeah, they wised up and raised the prices. I'll never be able to afford to replace my CBOB now.
