I do what I can. I call it a gift, really.

If it were me, I would go with the .45 acp. I am not you. But for trying to decide between 2 rounds one pricey and the other very common...I would go with the cheaper more common round. Plus, that would be another round that your family can handle easily. Just sayin...

Go with the 9mm or .40 so you can get the Pro Series, IMHO.

Depends on what you want to do with it when it comes to caliber. If you had it in 357 Sig can it use a 40 bbl and shoot both? I thought it was a pretty good thing I like about my 229 sig is I can change barrels between 40 and 357 sig and use the same mags even. It's not the end all best ever dealie but it's pretty cool to0 know that I can do that and have two weapons in one with just a bbl change. I don't know a while lot about the M&P's other than firing a few friends so I don't know if the Smith can do that. BE great if you could though.

9mm 100%. There should be a sigma and an M&P subforum. I agree.

The sigma dosent come in .357 sig? Did you mean something else? The sigma only comes in a 9 and a .40.

I seem to remember .357Sig Sigmas. Did they stop making them?

Hmmm, Maybe we should inform S&W that they made a mistake. Because my Sigma is .357sig.

Don't bust his balls too much, Shihan. He's right about them no longer being made in .357 Sig.

I've owned 2 M&Ps (briefly) and I found them a tad large and both the ones I had came with the mag disconnect. I really dislike mag disconnects so I didn't warm to either of them. Very serviceable guns but I've always preferred the XD platform in poly guns.

As far as caliber, I'd probably opt for a 9mm. This gives you a bit of flexibility in terms of calibers on hand and 9mm can be found very cheap on occasion...
