I put one out to 30 ft and the accuracy was fairly good

If you are willing to put up with the poor ergos, suckish mag cap, and bulk, the high point is the king of cheap. Sigmas, and Taurus' also fill the need.

Stoeger Cougar

Pretty sure it comes in a 40 option.

I really like the FNX and FNP Look around ya might find a Para Ord too. I have all of 350.00 in a P16. It has the huge capacity so many love and they are extremely accurate. But truth be told the HK or FN pisatols are pretty nice. I'm not a big fan of HK but that has more to do with value than it's operation. I just think they are overpriced.

I like the approach of saving up a bit more for a slightly higher quality gun. We took the budget route with our first handgun, a Taurus PT140 (40 S&W) that we paid right around $350 for I believe. We've had a lot of problems with it. Sights popping off, and now the magazine ejects itself on every shot. We need to send it in to get the magazine issue fixed, but we're still waiting on the replacement sights to come in. I'm not discounting all Taurus', I'm just saying we had bad experiences with ours.

So I guess I like the idea of saving a bit more money.

Don't eat that pizza as often. Smoke one less pack of cigarettes a week. Don't go to the movie theater every weekend. Eat less fast food. Things like that add up quickly.
