I'll add 2 cents as well. There is no "best" gun as everything is subjective. What's best for me may be crap for you - which is why you need to actually try before you buy. Find a range that rents the ones you're interested in and give them a go. It's the only way to find the "best" gun for you.

Every gun mentioned in this thread is a quality piece...

I like thd Xd's for a polymer and the cz75b for the steel frame 9mm's. About the same price, different platform.

Alright guys I wasn't exactly planning on going this route but it seems like it will work out. Tomorrow I am buying a used 9mm Springfield XD for $500 with 600 rounds of FMJ ammo and all the gear, etc. So if you figure in the cost to buy that ammo, I am getting the XD for around $370. On the way back from buying the XD I am dropping the Sigma off to a guy that is buying it for $375. So basically I am getting a free upgrade from a Sigma to an XD (minus gas)

Selling a used Sigma for more than a new one? Remind me to never buy a gun from you...

S&W list MSRP as $485. Shops around here are selling them for $400+ new. I am also including a tactical rail adapter, laser light, and 100 rnds of ammo for the $375 price.

A good choice and as expressed seemed like you had already made up your mind before asking.

Congrats on your upgrade!

You won't be disappointed. I have had 1 FTF in a gazillion rounds, and one FTE, when I was running it hyper-dirty just for S&G.
Next time you go gun-shopping, gimme a holler. I want to shop where YOU shop!
