A 1911 in the Marine Corps. My first pistol in civilian life was a pitiful RG Industries Model 40, a junk .38 spl made from cast iron. After years of folly depending on it I found out it was more dangerous to the shooter than to the shootee, so I replaced it with a Charter Arms Bulldog. That was over 30 years and 52 guns ago, but I still have the Bulldog, and it still shoots straight. It's good as a coat-pocket piece in cold weather.

My first was given to me by my grandpa, a 1921 colt 1911. The first one i bought myself was a first generation colt single action bisley, bought it from a family friend in 1980. I was 13 and worked for him to pay it of, cost me $350.00. Best thing i ever done and still shoot it about 3 times a year.
God bless Samuel Colt.
