My first handgun was a H & R Model 626 convertable (.22LR/.22mag). Got stolen, I think by the kid next door, but no proof.

After quite a bit of research I chose the Ruger SR9 over it's competitors in it's price range. Post recall, the gun is a beast for the price. No FTF and has a 1911 feel in a striker-fire frame.

Great choice! I LOVE my SR40c. It's a wonderful pistol that points great for me and is my most accurate .40. My only .40 now, so I don't have much practice with it lol! The trigger was gritty until I send a couple hundred pulls. Now it's sweet! Remove that mag disconnect. It's crap. And there is a company that makes nice goodies for it but I don't have their name in the iPad. You'll love your Ruger!

My first handgun was a High Standard that used to be my grandaddy's. He passed away several years ago and I ended up with it. It's waaay more accurate than I am.

First handgun was a RG Industries 22 revolver back in 1975. One of the ''Saturday Night Specials" I think they were $49.00 NIB.
