This is probably one of the stupidest posts to ever be posted so my apologies in advance.

A few weeks ago I bought a Ruger SR9c and was cleaning it before taking it out to the range and there was a little orange dot/sticker stuck to the side so I peeled it off and kept cleaning. Then today I Googled pictures of the SR9c and saw some with other colored dot/sticker (white for example) and it got me to wondering what these were for. Are they put on by the manufacturer or the FFL dealer? Again, lame question but thought I'd ask.

Thanks,
-E
