Guess that about sums up this, and most, "what should I buy" debates. If you are comfortable with a gun and it works for you then buy it. If not, choose another model; there are plenty of safe, reliable choices out there.

Missileman, thank you for your service sir...

Thanks, it was 30 years of enjoyment and I wish I was younger and could do it again!

Default Found One

I was at one of my favorite gun dealers looking at laser sights yesterday after work. In the case below I saw a used M9A1. It was in almost new condition. Needless to say I'll look at laser sights in a month or so. $500 was to good to pass up. Lucky for me I had just stopped at Walmart for 9mm and .40 ammo. I went straight to the range which is only about 2 miles from the gun shop. I put 100 rounds through it. It shot great. A long weekend ahead I think I'll make an extended visit to the outdoor range before Tuesday.

I have a few beretta's, mine have been very reliable with decent accuracy.
Fit and finish is quite good, though IMO the Italian models have a slight edge here.
Easy to operate, recoil is mild, they fit my hand quite well though I prefer the straight grip of the Vertec.

Here's a pic of my two Inox models. A standard 92fs and a Vertec

Here's a pic of mine. It's quickly becoming a favorite.

I had an M9 and, being a 1911 guy, could not adjust to the safety's position.

Now, I am not a Taurus fan, but the PT-92 is an Beretta with the update that Beretta should have done years ago
(the position of the safety). It also has three carry methods, DA first shot with no safety with use of the decocker,
DA first shot with safety with use of the decocker, or SA with use of safety.

I think the PT-92 is the best Taurus in their line up and I will add that the mec-gar optimum mags are great.
I use this one for home defense. I left this mec-gar 20rd mag loaded for a year and a half and then took it to the
range two weeks ago and used it. Not a failure. I wanted to swap out my defense ammo.
