What is a good pocket pistol?

Guns that are chambered only in 45. 40 or 9mm

pocket .45's don't exist and if they did, they'd be so slow for repeat hits as to be pointless, lkke 357 airweights. The lighter variants of the pocket 9 and .38 snub are very slow for repeat hits, except in strong expert hands, with special loads. you want sub .20 second repeats, not over .40 second repeats. Most shots in combat miss the enemy entirely, and most hits are poor hits, and often there are multiple attackers, so repeat hit speed is essential.

P938
Kahr CM9 or CM40
With big enough pockets you could drop an XDS in.

yes, if you wore mechanic's coveralls, all the time and everywhere. :-) Basically, if it's larger or heavier than 6" and 17 ozs, its not a pocket gun.

With a Remora holster my XDs will fit completely in my front jeans pocket, and I'm not a big guy. It's not exactly ideal though.

I often carried the SR9c and the PT145 in the front pocket with the Uncle Mike's pocket holster #4. It's doable, just not as comfortable as the smaller guns like the LCP or TCP.

I have a love/hate relationship w my Ruger LCP. Very, very easy to carry but not fun to shoot and I advise a laser to counter speed bump sights. Amazing accuracy for the platform. I paid $269 for gun. Laser is extra.

Sig has a nice 380 w good sights as well but it is considerably more expensive and you must carry cocked n locked. Have heard its easier on recoil as well. Also very accurate.

Colt Mustang - ditto Sig

Kahr PM9 - great gun if you can afford it. CM9 - they cut some corners.

I say this every time that someone asks this question, one that works. I don't care who makes the pocket pistol it's the gun that comes back more than any gun in their line up.

yeah, and if you had a shooting timer, you'd know that you can't get repeat hits on the chest, at a mere 10 ft, with that thing in less than 1/2 second per try. :-) anyone can easily take a sidestep in 1/2 second, making you miss, or dive/tackle at you in 1/2 second. Also, the .45 aint all that much, with standard loads in a 5" barrel. in a 2" barrel, it's 230 grs at 650 fps, for a lousy 250 ft lbs, whoopee. might as well be a hot 380, in al locked breech like the Keltec, which is MUCH thinner and 9 ozs, and $200 in good used condition, and can get repeat hits in less than .20 second. See, the locked breech lets you use (pulled from WW ammo) 85 gr silvertips at 1200 fps, for real expansion in flesh and 270 ft lbs. the Diamondback 9mm pocket auto is 11 ozs, guys, $400 brand new.
