Chicago IS Illinois, that's why our laws stink. Have an Ill. FOID card, but had to get a Chicago Firearms card -- 4 hours of useless "training" and $100 for (I think) a 3 year permit. Each individual gun costs $15 to register, and they must be re-registered every year. (So far, only one 15 dollar fee, however.

All that and it is still illegal to carry it outside in your backyard!

I can't wait to move back to the U.S.

Almost okay here but I do wish if you inadvertently printed, it wasn't a capital offense. And that won't go away even if or when we get open carry.

That is stupid as hell... We can print, we can inadvertently expose, and we can open carry. MI has other crazy issues as pointed out above, but the rest is pretty easy.

I would prefer open carry in My State of Texas. Those who don't want to see other people carrying guns will be the first ones to duck behind the one with a gun when the shooting starts. All you have to do is read the newspaper and the need for private protection is evident.
