No explanation necessary. That should be between you and your parents.

I did when I was 14, and so did a bunch of other guys on here. That's what my parents took away when I got grounded. What your parents trust you with is between you and them. Ignore the tinfoil hats and good luck!

What did somebody forget to engage their safety and shoot the dogs front teeth out? Or are we blaming that on the Glock shooters?

I had a .357 Magnum in my room with my ammo when I was 15. I'm 43 now. It was a different time before students went on frequent rampages shooting their schools. Before Columbine and Sandy Hook.

We use to take our rifles to school in our cars.

Teachers knew that we planned on hunting after school.

(And they knew that the guns would not come out if any disagreements arose. We went at it mano-a-mano)

Exactly! I understand guns are DEADLY! But to adults I'm a reckless kid that has a gun.

They always gave us the speech before hunting season about "unload, open the bolt, bring it to the office, get it back 10 minutes after school...". IIRC, they did ask that we came in the front door, not the bus unloading door.

Try a Ruger GP-100 revolver in .38/.357mag on when you are at the store; I love mine for plinking, and you can start with .38's and work your wrist up to the mags. I picked mine up for $400 a couple of years ago, but it was a little shop-worn.
