I have not had a .45 in some time though I have some ammo left from the last one and I also have the makings for reloading them. After going through the whole show, I came back to the third table visited and bought a Taurus PT-745.

I took it home, cleaned the grease out of it, lubed it, loaded it and went to my range in the field below our house. Hmmm. Never used Heine sights before. After a couple of shots to get used to the long, though smooth trigger pull, I started putting them around one hole. This is a really accurate little gun that's easily controllable. This was my first Taurus semi-auto and I'm really pleased with it. It is easy to conceal and is comfortable to carry.

I'm afraid that deals are relative to the area. My local gun shop is out of sight in pricing and I have to go a couple of hours away to get a better deal, then I consider gas and time. For instance all Taurus pistols are over $500. They just raised the price of primers to $50/1000. OUTRAGEOUS! The Taurus was just under $400 and the Glock 17 I just bought from a dealer I know an hour away (had to go that way to the VA hospital for a checkup) was under $500. So I was satisfied. Both work great!! Here they are. Note the home made .45 snap cap with an eraser for a primer in the Taurus case.
