Brad, this is plain as day for this particular pistol, right in bold red letters where it says "caution" and the sentence before. Did you read this? This however is not an issue with the ppq. Dry firing a ruger sr without a magazine inserted can damage parts, unless of course you remove the magazine disconnect safety.
