DefaultWalther PP9

Ok, a buddy of mine owns a Walther PP9 and he swears by it. He's not a competition shooter or anything, in fact, he's a Chaplain Assistant in the Army and has a huge family, not big into really anything.
I'm just curious as to any insight about that weapon, or Walther guns in general. Anyone care to share their ideas about it?

Walther makes top quality firearms. I would not hesitate to buy a Walther if it fits you well. A close friend has a P99 and loves it.

+1

For me personally, I do not like the magazine release on the P99, but Walther makes excellent weapons...now if they would just manufacture a PPK in 9mm!

Haha, Whiskey and typing don't mix. Just as red wine and knife sharpening don't mix! But yes I meant P99.

Unfortunately we don't know if your friend misspoke, or misunderstands what his gun is. Walther has a modern 9mm (9x19) pistol called the P99. They also made the classic Walther PP starting in 1929, which was followed by the PPK. These guns are not available in 9x19, but in the less powerful .380ACP, also known as 9mm Kurz or 9mm Short (9x17).

So you friend most likely has a P99, but may be mistakenly calling an older Walther PP in .380 a PP9.

Either way they are very nice pistols.

well, this is a very modern looking weapon and it's a 9mm, that I know for sure, so I'm sure it's the P99 now that i see these posts.

Dont know if it makes a difference in IDing it, but the mag release is along the bottem edge of the trigger guard, which was very new to me.
