Walther P-22?
After my last range visit with my Ruger P-95,I reilize I need to practice more, but the cost of 9mm ammo is way too expensive to get to the level of marksmanship that I would like to be at.So what do you think about the Walther P-22 for a practice gun?It is DA/SA just like me 9mm and the safety and controls are about in the same spot, the only thing is that the gun is smaller,I have considered the Ruger and Browning rimfire pistols but i'm afraid that they won't be like my 9mm at all, what do you think?

I guess it would depend on how much you want to spend
If I were you, the first step would be looking for a .22 conversion kit for your p95

there isnt a 22 conversion for the p95.
some pistols in 22lr i can come up with that have similar controls:
sig mosquito
cz75 kadet
walther p22
cant think of any others off hand.

I sold my mosquito and got the p22.
I've heard some stories of finicky walthers, but mine runs everything I've loaded in it.

I can't count how many people I had let shoot the mosquito, who handed it to me saying something was wrong with it, after trying to fire the first round.
They are like a Sigma.

I have a Walther P-22 and it is a bit finicky on ammo. I am going to try the CCI mini mag ammo.

The Ruger or Browning wont be like your P95. Besides the fire controls the grip angle is not the same. They are both really fun to shoot...But not the same.
I've not shot the P22 but held a couple. I'm not sure about the fire controls but the size itself I would think would be different enough to not give you the practice weapon you're looking for. I don't believe there is a conversion kit for a P95 either.
I would not let this stop me in my quest for a 22though. THe cheaper ammo alone makes it great for practicing. I have more fun shooting my 22's than about any other caliber I own.

How many rounds have gone thru it doc?
Mine has run-
federal lightning
rem golden bullet
Winchester xpert
Cci stingers
CCI mini mags
Rem thunderbolt
Rem viper
Rem subsonic
Aguila super sniper
Fed bulk
And some old crap ammo that was in a auction box.
I've gotten the normal bad primer rarely, but no ftf or stove pipes.
