The Bryco/Jennings/Jiminez are outstanding "Jam-O-Matics". The slide is made out a zinc something and referred to as "Pot Metal" I suggest you goggle Jiminez. IMO you would be trading up to a Hi Point. One thing about the Hi Point if it fails to fire while fighting off a mugger it is big enough and heavy enough to use as a club. I had a Hi Point one time and never had a problem with it except I thought it was go awful ugly. Remember any gun is better than no gun......

The Hi Points... What absolutely amazes me is that the ONLY REAL complaint, especially from people who have shot them, is that they are ugly. Seems to me that if they did some redesign for aesthetics and added a couple of rounds to the mag they would take off big time. I know they will never increase capacity, but just sayin'

You made a good trade. The Jimenez is just as heavy as a high point. What gets me about this thread is both the Jimenez and the hi point are made from pot metal. The difference is the hi point was designed to be made with pot metal. The Jimenez is designed to be made of quality metal and Jimenez made it from pot metal. Jennings/bryco no longer exist. a moron in CA pointed a bryco at his kids face while unloading it and killed his kid. somehow he managed to win a multimillion dollar lawsuit.

So that's what happened to that company. I haven't even chambered a round on the high point yet. Figured id wait till at the range to rack it. I've heard some crazy stories about these and Jimenez firing when racking so better to play it safe

I have the HiPoint JCP .40 S&W. Had a bad mag out of the box, had a new one in 2 days at no cost. Almost flawless since but only when I have a reload that I didn't get seated quite enough.

You made a god trade, watch some you tube videos on disassembly before you clean it. I'm at almost 1000 rounds and its one of my favorite guns to shoot.

Awesome! I was hoping to get something fun for the range and to sit on the night stand. I haven't shot it yet but am going today. I already like it more than the Jimenez. I saw how to field strip
It last night. That's the only way I clean my weapons, I'm very detailed about them. Only complaint I have is I hate having to use a tool to strip them but I can get over that.

I know...horrible 70's flicks...but I have to keep reminding folks that there are some things from the 70's that should NEVER return

Know ONE thing about Hi-Points...no matter how many owners...it is STILL under warranty...
it is a Lifetime Transferrable Warranty!!!

Which means if it gets broken/doesn't go bang/whatever...CALL the Company and have a chat...
they'll have you send it in...and they'll fix it!!!

For those who abuse things and then kvetch about having to pay for shipping, Don't Abuse 'Em!!!
or don't kvetch about the shipping for something you beast-handled and broke!!!
(Driving an RV over a rifle and then complaining to the company that it doesn't work ain't cool!! LOL)
