Well this thread is kinda prescient!
Made the long trek to a gun shop out west today; was looking for a target rifle sling but that's apparently too specialised to stock
most rifle shooters here being hunters that's the only type they had. However while I was there was surprised to find out they also sold pistols (as none were on display - you had to ask and they went into a 'secret' backroom lol)
The guy brought out a few for me have a hold of: M&PL (still think it feels great), a honest-to-goodness-authentic Colt 1911 (sorry JD, still too damn heavy, and I couldn't afford the hefty loan anyway
) and a Taurus 24/7.
It does feel very comfortable...and many guns just don't since I have ridiculously small hands. Hey even the mag release could be easily reached for a lefty.
But I will be guided by the god Google & you knowledgeable guys reports here (since I can't do any kind of test-firing) although the reviews seem to be rather mixed on the 24/7, some glowing some not so much.. Luckily they are getting a couple of HS 2000s in sometime in the first half of next year, so I will be able to handle the XD for comparison, though it can't be the XDm I really lust after.
[Guy told me the reason they have to wait so long...HS Precision gets 15 000 orders from Springfield; filled right away...they get *ahem* 50 from Australia...hell, we can wait lol]
