Default Taurus 24/7 Pro Owners

During a cleaning/fondling session with my old man's 24/7 Pro 40, I found that after dropping the slide with the slide release or sling-shotting the slide, the gun goes into double action mode. It will do this with an empty chamber or when chambering a round. However, when easing the slide home, it stays in single action mode. What the heck is going on? After dropping the slide, it should stay in single action, right?

It depends wether it's an original 24/7 or the newer 24/7 G2... The originals oater racking the slide cocks the striker, the G2 has a safety feature where your first shot is d/a... The trigger has to be depressed when the slide goes forward to catch the striker and cock it, in normal firing the trigger would still be down when the blowback and springs actions the slide, make the remainder of your mag s/a shots after your first fire... As far as it cocking when slowly bringing the slide forward I'm not sure on that and if it is an original not a G2 then I'd contact Taurus, it may need to be sent in for tlc... Hope that helps

I would suggest contacting Taurus customer service and either send it in for repairs or take it to a local gunsmith, I've never experienced that problem with mine( knock on wood)
