Default Is the Taurus 24/7 a good pistol?

I am thinking in buying a Taurus 24/7 PRO. It's relatively cheap and have found some very good reviews and don't have enough for a Glock. Also, it was NRA handgun of the year.

But, as usual, I have found some people that says it is a bad pistol. For eg., that the firing pin system is made of cheap plastic, and that it is not accurate.

The problem with this mid-range guns is that have very mixed opinions. Some people love them and other say are a crap. With Glocks, Sigs and so on, you can like them or not, but cannot say are bad guns.

Any help?

Thank you!

In the past Taurus has been a gamble, you never know whether you'll be lucky. I think they're improving lately but can't be sure. FWIW, I have two Tauruses that are good guns but you hear plenty of horror stories as well.

If you do go with a Taurus, check it out carefully as you would any firearm. If you have a knowledgeable buddy, take him with you to the LGS and have him field strip and inspect before you buy.

I have the 24/7 and have been happy with it. Had a couple of mis feeds when I first started shooting it but after wearing the new off have not had any problems with it. Accuracy is pretty good to about 20 yds at most but what would one expect from that barrel length.

I have had one in .45 and never had any problems with it. You might want to check out the Sig P250. It is a very good choice for a low cost-high quality pistol.

Default Taurus Pistols

I have 2 full sized 9mm PT92's and 2 compact .45ACP PT145's. All 4 are accurate as hell to about 20 to 30 yards. I needed a repair only once and it was done quickly and correctly. They come with a Lifetime warranty and for the money are great guns to have.
