I have a Keltec P3AT because it fits nicely in my pocket, but it is not fun to shoot at all! I also have a Ruger SR22 and that one is a lot of fun and is what I carry on occasion. Once I get a holster, I will start carrying our Ruger P95 which is a 9 mm.

My wife LOVES shooting my P3AT so I guess it all depends, but she's been married to a Marine for 13 years so I guess she is just use to punishment .

Too funny. I think it depends on the size and shape of your hands. My family and friends have all shot it and they didn't like it either. I like it because if I'm in workout clothes I can put it in my sports bra by my shoulder and don't have to have pockets.

i say look for either a .22 or a 9mm. in 22 check out the ruger sr22. its great fun to shoot. super cheap for ammo. for a 9mm i like rugers sr9c, S & W MP9, and berettas. take her to a store. tell the clerk you want to hold a variety of .22 and 9mm semi autos. to see what fits her hands. see what she thinks is comfortable to hold and RACK. some slides are much stiffer than others. have her work the safety too. just so you know if you like where they sit and such. she wont much like to shoot if the gun doesnt fit right or press her hand in strange spots.

I like the P290 for 9mm and it comes with a "LASER".

We looked at guns last night and she really likes the look and feel of the bodyguard .380 in her hand. I did some research on here and found that the general opinion is that it's a good gun but the recoil makes it no fun to shoot. I want her to enjoy this experience and also want her to buy something she both likes and enjoys shooting. I think she would probably be better off with something in .22 lr. She does shoot my Ruger p345 in .45 acp with no problem though. This won't be a carry gun (I can't seem to talk her into that yet), just a plinker. I would love to see a bodyguard .380 or ruger lc9 with a .22 conversion. Is that even possible? Any suggestions? We live in Massachusetts so we've got some pretty stiff gun laws. Thanks in advance.
The question i always ask when it comes to these kinds of topics is this; what will its primary use be? Plinking? PD? Local contesting? Beginning gun to really train? Hunting gators or kodiac bears?
