Gearhead must not have ever been to the south and especially to close enough to listen to the Appellation dialect. I forgot the actual term of that speech. Do you know it?

GearHead, say the words as fast as possible using the thickest southern draw you can muster and leave out the vowels
Lol thanks for the tip

The only brands of striker fires we can get over here is from Hk, Walther and Glock. I have not seen a Sig striker fire in any store yet. I wanted an Xd, but Springfield only sells stateside. The Germans are big on hammer fired guns with decockers. The Barretta 92 is expensive and well made, since they come from Italy. The US made Barretta 92 has continual problems in combat. The troops hate them. Some are buying their own Glocks for combat. I have had no problems with my p226 or USP, but some people may think they are too complicated. Especially newbies. It takes practice to shoot DA on first shot. I recommended a Glock 19 for my mother for CC, because of its KISS principle, weight and manageable recoil. They are very reliable too.

Should have told her to get the 21SF. I have the 17 and the 21. The 17 has alot more felt recoil than the 21 and the 21 is alot more accurate at 7 to 25 yards.
I had a Beretta 9mm when I was in the service in the early 90's. never had a problem with it. I could reach out and touch someone at 100 yards and keep it within a 5" group. I am not sure anymore if it was Italian or US made.

I own both and use both but if I could only have a striker fired pistol or a hammer fired pistol, I'd always take the striker fired pistol over the hammer fired pistol.

It's pretty hard to obstruct a striker.

It's pretty hard to drop a striker fired pistol on the striker.

If the pistol fails to fire, rack the slide. SA, DA, DAO, striker fired, whatever... just point the muzzle and ejection port away from your face and rack the slide.
