From what searching I have done it seems taurus has good engineering, but less than average fit, finish and customer service. I've spoken to a few 800 series owners and its hit and miss on getting a good one but if you do get a good one its fantastic, for $340 I may have to take the chance

I have an 840 and it's only jammed one time after several hundred rounds. I attributed that jam to inferior ammo.
