So Taurus Pt840, yay or nay?
Going to be in the market for another handgun in the near future, I want a sa/da in .40 s&w. Was leaning towards the Sig 2022 then found the 800 series and liked the looks of it more. How do you owners or handlers feel about it?

My brother in law has the 840 and he loves his, I have shot it several times myself I got to say I have no complaints with it. Some dont like Taurus, I have several and will probably get more. The only one I ever had a problem was a little 25 and I didnt keep it long.

From what I've heard from those much older and wiser the bad rap taurus has is from the 80s and early 90s when they were horrible in every way. I've shot the 24/7 and pt1911 and in my mind they were superb

I have never shot a Taurus that I liked It would be a Nay for me.

Absolutely love my 809 in 9mm....I imagine the 40 will be slightly snappier but still a great value. I would take this over the SW 40 sigma any day

Never shot the model you mentioned, but had a Taurus millennium pro in 9mm. Key word HAD, after many FTF & FTE she got traded in for a beretta. My buddy had same millennium pro in .45 acp and he did the same trading for a ruger. So nay on the Taurus for me.

From what I've heard the 24/7 and 800 series are a different breed from taurus, both being based off the military sidearm

Don't know the specific model but official Taurus fan right here.

I'm also an official Taurus fan. I have several Taurus pistols that I love very much: PT145, 24/7 and 24/7 C in 9mm & .45, 24/7 G2 in 9mm and .45. One of them, the PT145, is my EDC. Taurus customer service has improved remarkably and it is as good as Ruger CS from my experience. I do not own the PT800 series but I am sure they are excellent guns as well. I suggest you go to forum to learn more about the PT840.

For what it's worth, my PT1911 is flawless. Have zero issues with it.
