Any thoughts? And does anyone know why its so hard to find one?

They actually discontinued that and the Sigma model. They released an updated "budget" model SD VE both in 9mm and 40 SW. I actually bought the .40 today.. Now for the long 7 day waiting period!

Well that explains it. Have you fired one of the revised versions? And how is the price compared to the latter guns?

I pick it up next week.. So just dry fired... The trigger is the SD for sure .. About 8lbs.. Feels great in the hand .. Love the look. Its priced about $15-20 above Sigma so $330-$335. Smith warranty is top notch! Its worth a look. Ill update when I finally get down to the range!
