Smith and Wesson model 659
 

I just picked up a model 659 in 9mm to go with my Springfield XD45. Can anyone tell me much about this handgun. I know it is heavy compared to my Springfield and is stainless. My stepdad used it as a deputy for a couple of years.

First I must ask- WHY is it heavy compared to a Springfield XD45 :confused:
Personaly I like most S&W simi autos :)

The best I can tell is Springfields not all metal like the Smith. I like the feel of the Smith and I plan on firing a few rounds in the next day or so. I just got the Springfield a acouple of weeks ago and like it also.

Well, I have a XD 45 Tactical & love it :cool:

Years ago (like in the '80's) I used to own a Smith mod 659. It was great fun to shoot. It did have an intermittent trigger issue. Slide would cycle normally & chamber round/cock hammer but when I pulled the trigger it would not drop the hammer/fire. Only would happen every once in a while though. Fun range gun but would not carry mine.

I like my SS -S&W 645. Shoots great, has all the features I like.

But it's from the eighties, before they got all plasticool,
