I have a BE 9mm and the front site is a dovetail (I think that is the correct term). I can shoot pretty decent groups at seven yards but at 25 yards I can't hit a thing. I got to looking at the site and it looks like it's off to one side just the slightest bit. I know the farther away the more off it will be but would it really be off the paper (8x11 sheet), or am I just that bad! If it is the sight how would I be able to adjust it, or would you adjust the rear sight, it has set screws. Any advice is appreciated, thanks

Where are the groups at 7 yards? How large is the group? How the the firearm shoot for someone else?

The front sight being off a little is not bad if it groups consistently in or near the middle. If the sight is off to the left, then moving the sight to the center will move the point of impact to the left (the front sight is adjusted opposite the rear).

Thanks for the reply danf. At 7 yards I can keep it in a 3' group or so and they do seem to stay a bit to the right of center but stay in a decent group. I haven't really had anybody else shoot it at 25yrds, mostly when my friends try it out they just shoot at 7 but I will have them try it out and see how they do. It is starting to look like I just need more practice at 25 yrds!
