Haha...point taken. I would say most guys issued the M9 wish it were a larger caliber for stopping power. The problem with what you are saying is a pistol is very rarely discharged in combat. You want to shoot bad guys at about 100+ yards or so. Those three boxes I was referring to we're for qualifying every year...lol. That wouldn't change regardless of the round. A compromise would be an interchangeable barrel. 9mm for qual, .40 or .45 for combat.

That would be a logistics nightmare. They had that problem in WWII and Korea, to many different weapon systems and calibers. That is why they standardized the calibers.

Wait a second!! You picked that up brand new for $550?? Where the heck did you get that deal on a P229R? Do they have it in all black for the same price? I'll order one right now. Thanks and please let me know because I'm interested.

What ended up happening is a guy at the local gun shop ordered it and picked it up. Brought it back about an hour later and pawned it for $200 because something happened and he needed money. Not sure why, but he never came back to get it and I just happened to be there the day it came out of pawn and picked it up.

But to make this an even sweeter story I picked up a Sig P-232. 380, a P239 and P-228 both in 9mm for $850 a couple of years back. All brand new and in the box. This guy had a gun shop the next county over and was moving. Needed to get sell everything. Here is a picture of my family of Sig Classic Pistols.

I may not be lucky enought to win the lottery but when it comes to being in the right time and place for someone to sell a weapon, I just happen to be around. GO, figure. Wish I was that luck finding a truck.

Yeah...I rarely find a deal. I don't go to pawn shops much. Maybe I should.
